Can Gemini AI make Ghibli images for free like Grok 3 & ChatGPT?
Google surprised everyone by letting regular users try its new Gemini 2.5 Pro. They were going to keep it just for paying customers of Gemini Advanced, but they changed their minds because they have a lot of competition from ChatGPT and Claude. Gemini AI is coming out when everyone online is sharing pictures that look like they’re from Ghibli movies, mostly because ChatGPT can make them easily.
But Google’s Gemini isn’t really made to make pictures, so it’s not clear if it can make those Ghibli-style images.

But while GPT-4o is popular because it can do many things easily, including making pictures, Google hasn’t said if Gemini 2.5 Pro can make pictures by itself.

Therefore, Gemini 2.5 Pro probably doesn't have a built-in "Ghiblify" option.

This means Google’s Imagen 3, which Gemini uses to create images, isn’t as good at quickly changing art styles as OpenAI’s ChatGPT. For example, GPT-4o can make Ghibli-style art without needing other programs, making it a better choice for creative AI work.
Google probably made Gemini 2.5 Pro free to keep people using its AI. ChatGPT from OpenAI is still more popular, especially since its free version can do many things.
By letting people use Gemini 2.5 Pro for free, Google might be trying to get more users and show off its improvements in thinking, even if it’s not as good at creative AI yet.
